Putting smiles on kiddies’ faces

The children and staff of St Mary’s were treated to a scrumptious lunch at Life Grand Café with pizza, chicken strips, crispy chips, salads and then finished off with delicious waffles, chocolate and cream.

MALL of the South partnered with Sojo Business and Tourism and Pam Golding (#Helpthyneighbour team) to bring the children from St Mary’s Children’s Home a wonderful Christmas surprise on December 9.

The children and staff of St Mary’s were treated to a scrumptious lunch at Life Grand Café with pizza, chicken strips, crispy chips, salads and then finished off with delicious waffles, chocolate and cream.

“What a treat this has been,” said director of St Mary’s, Sonja Harmse. “Thank you to all concerned for this surprise lunch for the children and staff.”

Santa asked two of the youngsters from St Mary’s what their Christmas wish was.

Centre management staff from Mall of the South also joined in the festivities with their families for a real fun Christmas lunch.

The surprise didn’t end there, though. Santa came by with a jolly hohoho, and each child received a gift box filled with treats and spoils.

“We’d like to thank the #Helpthyneighbour team and shoppers, as well as community members who donated to this worthy cause. They have certainly put smiles on to all these kiddies’ faces,” said Krystal Coconas, marketing and communications manager of Mall of the South.

“Thank you, thank you, to one and all, this has been a day to remember,” added Sonja.
