Stompie in need of a home

Three-legged dog wants a family

Every dog deserves a chance to be loved, cared for and comforted.

As for the one-year-old Stompie that was a different story as his family donated him to the Johannesburg SPCA.

Stompie’s family donated him because they couldn’t afford him anymore and they opted to give him away.

Stompie is said to be a fun dog which loves playing and running around a lawn chasing his tail or stretching his tummy.

The ever happy dog has only three legs, but that hasn’t deterred him from enjoying life to the fullest.

According to SPCA spokesperson, Liana Marx, in most cases if an animal has a disability people don’t want them anymore.

“People desert their animals because they are not perfect anymore. The same people fail to ask themselves if they are perfect or not,’’ said Marx.

Marx emphasised that animals are just like a child, but the difference is that they can’t talk.

“We love our children who might have some type of disability, so we can love our pets as well.

“It wasn’t any animal’s intention to come into the world disabled, therefore we should show humanity and love them,” said Marx
