Five injured in four-vehicle collision on the R59 Alberton

A man reported to be in his mid 30s is in a critical condition following a four-vehicle collision on the R59 in Alberton on February 8.

A man reported to be in his mid-30s is in a critical condition following a four-vehicle collision on the R59 in Alberton on February 8.

The accident that took place just before Kliprivier left four others with minor to moderate injuries.

ER24 arrived first on the scene where they found a vehicle on its roof, in the middle of the road.

According to Ross Campbell, ER24 spokesperson, the critical patient was ejected from the light motor vehicle and lay some distance away.

“He was treated with advanced life-support interventions before being transported to Thelle Mogoerane Hospital for further care.

“Two other vehicles were found on the centre median and one other in the bush on the side of the road,” said Campbell.

Two patients were treated and transported by Ekurhuleni Provincial EMS, while another by a private service, all taken to Thelle Mogoerane.

Metro police and Ekurhuleni fire department were on the scene for further investigations.
