Alberton Dam gets cleaned

Kotze encourages residents to try by all means to keep the dam clean.

The Ward 37 committee and councillor Tiaan Kotze conducted a clean-up at the Alberton Dam on March 7.

They were joined by some of the residents to see to it that the dam is relieved of waste.

“I suspect the oil that is all over the dam is coming from the factories around here,” said Kotze.

Councillor Tiaan Kotze was excited to see people coming in numbers to clean Alberton Dam.

“Also, the dam is full of sewage and plastics, which may be caused by burst pipes or people throwing things into the dam. Cleaning the dam shows that we want to live in a clean environment,” he said.

Kotze encourages residents to try by all means to keep the dam clean.
