Sassa precautions during lockdown
Sassa issued a few points for its beneficiaries in an attempt to prevent the spread of the virus.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) is taking precautionary measures against Covid-19 and encourages beneficiaries to implement safety measures against Covid-19.
Sassa issued a few points for its beneficiaries in an attempt to prevent the spread of the virus.
– Beneficiaries are to note that a limited number of clients will be allowed into the premises.
– Beneficiaries are encouraged to stay at home if their health is in question.
– Straightforward enquiries can be done telephonically.
– All Sassa public gatherings have been postponed until further notice.
– Home visits, clinic and hospital visits are temporarily suspended.
– Beneficiaries are urged to use electronic means of payment on paydays, and we advise them that social grants do not have to be collected on the first day of payment. Beneficiaries can still collect their social grants later in the month to avoid crowding.
– Cash Pay Points will be operational with the recommended hygiene measure in place. Beneficiaries are urged to comply with hygiene requests.
Sassa Gauteng spokesperson Nandi Mosia said the precautions are implemented in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) of 1993.
“As well as supporting the reduction and strategies to eliminate the spread of Covid-19. Sassa humbly requests from each one of us to do their part in managing this pandemic,” said Mosia.
She concluded by stating that Sassa appeals to its clients to be patient and understanding in this time of crisis.
