Tortoise rescued by Alberton SPCA

The Alberton SPCA urges residents to report any form of animal cruelty to them by contacting them on 011 907 1568.

Sipho Letsoalo, an inspector from Alberton SPCA, rescued a tortoise in Thinasonke on May 14.

This after the SPCA received multiple complaints from residents about the tortoise.

“The tortoise has spent its life chained up by holes made in its shell,” said Sipho.

After he rescued the tortoise it was taken to the Johannesburg Wildlife vet who will now take care of him.
“He has been relocated so that he can spend his life free – the way he was meant to. Have a wonderful new life big boy,” said Sipho.
