Alberton’s beauty queen takes on SA
Resident Errin Amber Mostert has made it into the finals for Miss Teen Commonwealth SA. There are 24 finalists from across the country.
ALBERTON – The Miss Teen charity is the Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital Fund and the finalists will be raising funds for this charity.
The finalists will be undergoing a four-month journey and will be involved in workshops and seminars to prepare them for the Grand Finale, which will take place on August 29 at the Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City and the winner will compete in London in November.
Errin has always had a passion for modelling, pageantry, community service and volunteering, and the Miss Teen Commonwealth SA pageant combines all these things.
She is a regular volunteer at the TLC Children’s home and she was the first princess at her school pageant. Errin is a very busy young lady; not only is she juggling school, extra-mural activities, sport, volunteering and her involvement in the pageant, but she is also studying part-time at Camelot International to complete her nail tech course.
Time management is very important to her. She also mentions that she would not be able to reach her goals if it were not for the support of her family. Her mother and father are willing to drive her around and help where they possibly can. Empowerment of youth is very important to Errin, as she has a passion for people and children and reminds us that the children are the future of our country. Errin feels that the pageant gives her an opportunity to help other children through her charity work and she is very appreciative of this opportunity.
Errin is excited to start her journey, but needs all the support she can get. You can support her by voting, send an SMS to 42899 with her name “Errin Mostert”. It costs R3 per SMS and you can vote as many times as you like. She has also set up a Facebook page that readers can “like” to keep up with her journey. She encourages everyone to interact with her via her Facebook page. Errin hopes to make Alberton and her country proud.
