A call to Alberton residents to share their opinions and views on structures or landscapes that they feel are significant enough to be preserved.

ALBERTON – David Sterling, a post-graduate student of the University of the Witwatersrand’s Faculty of Architecture, is participating in Heritage Studies.
David needs the participation of local residents for his research project.
His research project asks the following question: “As a local resident, is there any structure, place or natural vegetation within the New Redruth area, which should be considered significant enough for architectural, social or political importance in retaining, and in so doing be considered to be protected from demolition or further development?”
Those residents who are willing to answer the above question, can reply by either stating “yes” and optional details about the space, or “no”. A “no” reply will be placed under the category of “Indifferent”.
Answers can be sent to 083 263 3899 (SMS or voicemail), 086 636 0183 (fax) or email david@docarchitects.co.za.
David asks that those who are willing to participate please answer as truthfully and unbiased as possible, and to reply no later than August 1.
This survey is not necessarily linked to the views of the Local Heritage Society nor the local authority.
