Two die as helicopter bursts into flames

RAND AIRPORT – Paramedics have confirmed that two men tragically lost their lives after a helicopter crashed and burst into flames in Germiston near Rand Airport this afternoon.

Exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events are still unclear and will remain the subject of a civil aviation authority investigation.

Paramedics and other services arrived on the scene and found the remains of the burnt-out helicopter.

Tragically both men were already deceased prior to their arrival.
