NFP welcomes Kganyago as Governor
She said Kganyago is a key figure and well known to investors
JOHANNESBURG SOUTH – President of the National Freedom Party (NFP) Zanele Magwaza-Msibi has welcomed the appointment of Lesetja Kganyago as new Governor of the South African Reserve Bank.
“The appointment of someone like Mr Kganyago with so much experience is welcomed. Kganyago is well respected and has a long-standing knowledge of our economy and the markets alike, While we appreciate and acknowledge the fact that he is appointed at a time when our rand is battling, we believe he is the right person to stabilise the country’s economy,” Magwaza-Msibi said.
She said that Kganyago is a key figure and well known to investors and commands a great deal of respect for achievements during his time at the Treasury.
“Mr Kganyago has been the Deputy Governor and his appointment shows continuity, which is very crucial. He is also seen as a key figure in the reforms implemented in South Africa over the years and has played a key role in establishing South Africa’s reputation for sound fiscal policy. As the NFP, we welcome his appointment and wish him all the best.” said Magwaza-Msibi.
