Give the gift of life
THE festive season is a busy period for many, and shopping for holiday treats and gifts are among the highest on many people’s lists.
The South African National Blood Service is hoping that you will add the gift of life to your list and donate blood at least once over this period.
They are appealing to all existing blood donors (or new potential donors) who reside in the Alberton area to visit the donor centre and donate a life-saving unit of blood to give someone another chance at life with their family this festive season.
To become a blood donor – you need to:
• Be between the ages of 16 and 65
• Weigh more than 50kg
• Be in good health
• Consider your blood safe for transfusion to a patient
• Lead a sexually safe lifestyle
