Thief takes wet washing

On Friday, November 14 a man in his 30s stole wet washing in Hudson Street and sold the goods in Phola Park, where the owner found him after making his quick buck.

ALBERTON – “When I discovered that all the branded tops were missing from the washing line, I suspected my son’s friend. I went to Phola Park, where there is a big market for all stolen goods, and met the suspect returning from his sale. I assaulted him and dragged him to the police station, where he confessed and begged me not to open a case.

“We returned to Phola Park, and he gave the money back to the buyers, and I got my wet washing back. The sad thing is that I know the man. When he is hungry, I give him food, and a place to sleep when he has nowhere to go,” said a frustrated Catheleen Thee.
