Hungry thieves target Shesa-Nyama

Monday, November 17 was a busy day at Shesa-Nyama stall were many customers gathered to eat their pap and fried meat. The staff closed shop that evening and everything seemed normal.

EDEN PARK – But when they opened on Tuesday morning a big surprise waited from them. It is alleged by Mabatho that hungry thieves broke into the stall and stole all the pots, meat, bread, tea and sugar. “It is evident that they had the time to even fry some meat and eat in the shop. They even took the braai stand,” Mathabo said.

The stall has been standing empty since last year, when the furnishing repair business was abandoned. The Shesa-Nyama business has been operating for only six months and has already been targeted by the so-called Nyaope loafers.

One stall owner, who asked not to be named, said: “The break-ins are done by boys outside the area. The culprits are drug addicts who sit around here the entire day. They sit loafing here and plot their plans. These burglaries are costly, because we lose our goods and have to do repairs of the ripped-off roofs and the big holes they leave in the walls.”
