Give your business a chance: Join South African Council for Business Women

The South African Council for Business women was successfully launched in Alberton offering business women an opportunity to network and develop their skills.

ALBERTON- The South African Council for Business women successfully launched the Alberton branch on February 6.

An informal meet and greet was held at the Promise Grill in Meyersdal where 15 women shared their backgrounds and networked with one another.

The Chairlady for Alberton Tracy Meyjes was supported by the National President Cerita Nagy and Mallory Lambert, the Vice President Congress and Gala, and a preliminary committee was identified. Tracy is planning a big event with a guest speaker in April to introduce the concept to even more business ladies in the area.

The SACBW has been in operation since 1985 and concentrates it efforts on issues affecting women in business. The council is committed to help members grow their business and grow as individuals. The meetings create times to network with other business ladies in Alberton, thus marketing your product and services and the opportunity to learn from other.business. Like one lady said during the meeting; “Tele-women” is the best kind of marketing.

The council is involved in many charity projects such as rape victims, and they will be joining hands with the Epic Foundation that empowers abused and raped women. Alta Macmaster, the CEO of Epic foundation, was the first to express her excitement about the new branch, stating that she wants to become a member.

The meeting was attended by businesswomen from the Alberton area such as Elizra Vorster from Laser on Braun, Elna du Toit from Imperial canteen, Lee Legg, the Shady Lady who creates lampshades, and Natasha Venter from My Designer Cakes, who also provided lovely cupcakes for the ladies.

If you wish to become part of this exciting new group and improve your business, please phone Tracy Meyjes on 074 239 9593 for more information.
