Ligstad improves security

Residents of Alberton might have noticed palisades being erected around the hall of the old “Eeufees” church from where Ligstad operates. Alida Jooste, social worker and project manager explains the need for improved security as follows:

ALBERTON – “As Alberton RECORD recently reported, Ligstad has started a playgroup/crèche in January 2015. Safety has always been a concern due to the fact that two neighbouring businesses are utilising part of the parking on the premises and there are vehicles in and out of the premises on a regular basis. The gate being closed at all times could not have been monitored effectively until now.

“Thanks to a donation of palisades from Growth Point, made possible by Pieter Kirkhoff, Edu Botha of Above All Solutions, and his team erected the donated palisade for Ligstad. Their donation of material and labour is highly appreciated by Ligstad,” Alida concluded.

A pedestrian gate is being installed with a buzzer soon, and the parents entrusting their children into the care of Ligstad during the morning or in the afternoon at the aftercare can now know that with access control in the near future, Ligstad can ensure an even safer environment for their children than ever before.”

Thanks to businesses like these two and the grace of God, Ligstad is growing to be the beacon of hope it strives to be in the community of Alberton. Individuals or businesses who want to contribute to Ligstad (a registered NPC and NPO) are welcome to contact Alida Jooste at 079 693 3666.
