ALBERTON- The Alberton District Women’s Auxiliary and the Methodist Church of South Africa Highveld celebrated their 45th Annual District Meeting.
The meeting was held at the eMseni Christian Conference Centre on March 27 and 28.
Rev Luvuyo Sifo spoke about Transforming Discipleship in his address on Friday, encouraging the ladies to carry the light for God and to share the Good News.
Irene Campbell was presented with a beautiful orchid as they honoured her for attending her 45th District Meeting. They were also honoured to have Beth Kok (District President from Central District) address the ladies and handed out gifts to everyone.
Rev Phidian Matsepe conducted the Commissioning Service where they were joined by Mrs Mary Nqaba (President Women’s Manyano), Nokwanda Nyobole (President Young Women’s Manyano), Oscorina Tshabalala (Vice-President Young Women’s Manyano) and Khongelwa Siyumba (CCS).
Mary Ellerbeck from Kempton Park Women’s Auxiliary was appointed as the new District President, and it was a sad goodbye to Judy Allan after her two years of dedicated service.
They also had fun during the two days, starting with ventriloquist Gareth Lush kept the ladies laughing. Each branch, including the District Executive, performed a short skit which all enjoyed.
The District Meeting is always a time of sharing, fun, fellowship and meeting old friends, at the same time remembering that they are all Sisters in Christ doing His work.
