ALBERTON- Ronnie and Chris Nel from Alberton North celebrated their Diamond wedding anniversary on April 9 with family and friends.

Chris, who turned 89 on April 1, recently had a heart attack and a gallbladder operation. He says the secret to their long marriage is that regardless of the obstacles they have been committed to one another through “dik en dun” for 60 years.

Ronnie believes that the most important thing is having God central in your life and marriage.

At a celebratory tea with friends and family, Chris ever the romantic gentleman, presented Ronnie with a single perfect red rose saying that she has always been the love of his life.
