Swartkoppies collision results in tragedy

ALBERTON – A traffic collision involving a taxi and a light motor vehicle on Friday, May 22 resulted in multiple injuries and the death of one man, according to ER24.

The collision occurred at the Potgieter and Swartkoppies road intersection in Mayberry Park. According to emergency services, nine people were injured with mild to moderate severity. One man was found trapped inside the light motor vehicle. He had succumbed to multiple fatal injuries and was declared dead on the scene.

The injured people were transported to various hospitals for further treatment.

The cause of the collision is not known and is now the subject of police investigation.
