Armed robbery in Extention 5

A man was robbed by two armed suspects in Dan Serote Street, Extension 5, on Sunday, August 23.

EDEN PARK – According to the victim, he was taking a stroll when he was confronted by two men who demanded a refund for the payment of a learner’s licence.

The victim explained that he had no business with the two men but they kept on following him.

When he approached a nearby tavern, the two suspects pulled him aside, took out their firearms and started assaulting him.

According to the victim, he was kicked and punched in front of the tavern’s patrons and passing pedestrians. While he was trying to stand up, his two cell phones fell out his pocket and the robbers took them.

A case of armed robbery was opened with the Eden Park SAPS.

The suspects were arrested and appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court last week.
