Mom and daughter involved in separate accidents

The Jaws of Life was used to free a mother who was involved in an accident on her way to her daughter’s accident scene.

A mother was on her way to her daughter’s accident scene when she was involved in an accident herself.

Kevin Peel, spokesperson for the National Paramedical Services (NPS), said an accident between three vehicles happened underneath the Swartkoppies Road bridge yesterday around 07:00.

“We were on our way to that scene when we got the call about another accident that just happened.”

The mother is believed to have been heading towards the accident scene when she swerved out of the way, allegedly for a motorcyclist, causing her vehicle to roll and hit an embankment on the R59-freeway going towards Johannesburg.

Peel said the Jaws of Life had to be used to free the mother from the wreck.

She was transported to the Natalspruit Hospital in Vosloorus with minor injuries.
