Walking the catwalk for cancer awareness

A successful Think Pink Cancer Awareness Showcase and Graduation Day was held.

Figures Models and Talent Alberton recently held a successful Think Pink Cancer Awareness Showcase and Graduation Day at the Brackenpark Hall.

“The entire show was dedicated to creating cancer awareness and the off-stage presenters educated the audience and students about cancer facts in-between the various classes of junior and senior models and dancers,” Figures media liaison, Emma Griffin, said.

A large array of pink balloons were placed along the pink and grey stage. “The shining stars outdid themselves with their beautiful costumes and sequences and truly represented the pink theme of the day.”

Emma thanked the judges who took the time and made the effort to attend the show.

“One of the judges, Desiree Oliphant, the current Mrs UN South Africa and recently crowned as second princess in the Mrs UN World competition, delivered some inspiring and heartfelt words to the students and truly uplifted everyone’s spirits,” said Emma.

Figures Alberton congratulated all the students who achieved top scores and won or placed in the best dressed category and said that they have all worked really hard and deserved the recognition.

The dancers were also not overlooked. “Your sequences and solo dances completed the fantastic show. It takes courage to perform on a stage in front of a live audience and each and every one of the students showed that they are true performers,” Desiree said.
