ALBERTON: Kathleen Doreen Cox (51), known to the community as Aunty Cathy, suffered a heart attack on Saturday, November 14, at her home and was declared dead by paramedics who, according to the family, took too long to arrive.

Cathy was employed as a janitor at the Eden Park Primary School for almost 11 years before she went on pension.

A memorial service was held for Cathy at the school and speaker after speaker praised Cathy for her kindness and dedication to her work and, most of all, her love for her children.

A letter sent by the former headmaster, I De Vries, from Jeffrey’s Bay, was also read.

She is survived by her husband Frank, three sons and one daughter. Cathy will be dearly missed.
