Five safety tips for when using the ATM:

* If possible, always make sure you go with someone else.

* Go to an ATM where there is a lot of activity, not an isolated or quiet one.

* When entering your PIN, make sure to cover the keypad with your free hand to ensure nobody sees your PIN.

* Do not accept help from a stranger even if you are unsure how to properly use the machine. Rather go inside the bank and ask a clerk for assistance.

* Be aware of your surroundings and be observant of anything that may seem suspicious.
