R30 000 donated

Alberton Retirement Village gives back.

ALBERTON Retirement Village in Verwoerdpark, recently donated R30 000 to Stepping Stone Hospice.

This is a gesture made possible by the hard work and dedication of the village’s council, it’s 12 active committees and 431 residents.

Says Dawie Botma, manager at the retirement village, “The initiative to give back to well-deserving charities in our town, had its origins with the founder of the retirement village, Clr Johann van der Merwe and also the very first chairman of the organisation. He strongly believed that we as a village community should raise funds and help look after the needy in our communities.”

Tersia Burger, CEO at Stepping Stone Hospice, thanked them for the wonderful gesture and assured them that their funds will be put to good use. “Demand for hospice care is on the increase and we are constantly looking at ways to improve and increase our facilities, all things that cost money.”
