KNRA Long Walk with a difference
The various distances will be clearly marked and marshals will be stationed along all the routes to provide guidance to all.
THE Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve Association will be holding its annual 20km Long Walk on Sunday, May 22. This year, however, there will also be a 5km and 10km walk for the younger and not-so-fit members of the community. This will allow a greater number of walkers to enjoy the beauty of the nature reserve in autumn.
The various distances will be clearly marked and marshals will be stationed along all the routes to provide guidance to all. A number of “escape” routes will also be available to those who wish to walk shorter distances. There will be a number of water points available and these will be marked on the brochures to be handed out at the registration point. Participants are advised to take sufficient extra water with them as well, to ensure that they are adequately hydrated.
Details are as follows: Registration will take place between 08:00 and 09:00 at the Nature Reserve Precinct in Peggy Vera Road, Kibler Park. (The entrance is directly after the Recreation Centre). Participants may begin walking as soon as they have registered.
The cost will be R30 per person, but children under the age of 12 will participate for free. Refreshments will be available at the end of the walk.
