Drug suspects still in custody

Next court date will be available soon.

SUSPECTS arrested in Appelgrein Street, Brackenhurst for the manufacturing of drugs will remain behind bars.

Captain Ndivhuwo Mulamu from the Hawks’ Organised Crime Unit in Gauteng told the RECORD that the two suspects’ bail had been denied. They were caught on May 10 for running an illegal drug lab at 10 Appelgrein Street opposite Glenview Primary School in Brackenghurst. Twenty million Rands’ worth of meth and an assortment of chemicals were seized.

When members from the Hawks’ Organised Crime unit and the War Room in Gauteng arrived they found two Nigerian men aged 36 and 38 sleeping. The suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on May 11 on charges of manufacturing drugs.

Capt Mulamu said that she would be in contact with the RECORD after she has the correct date of their next court appearance.

The Hawks’ investigations will continue and more suspects are expected to be arrested soon.
