Educate your domestic worker

The police are searching for the two men.

HOME owners and domestic workers should be on the lookout for a white man, accompanied by two African men who visit homes under the pretense that they have been sent by the owners to do some work.

Once they are allowed into the premises, they overpower the domestic workers, tie them up and rob the house.

As part of the Domestic Watch Forum, domestic workers of Verwoerdpark took some time to distribute pamphlets with safety tips about housebreaking, ATM card robberies, house robberies, substance abuse and hijacking. During their rounds they also shared information about criminals doing the rounds and how to avoid falling prey to these people.

They were out and about distributing the pamphlets, not only to create an awareness among other domestic workers, but also to give information in assisting them not to fall victim to criminal acts.

All domestic workers are requested to be on the lookout and if they suspect anything they must call the police immediately. Home owners are requested to encourage their domestic workers to join the forum.

Those who have information or are interested in joining, can contact Sgt PB Mgedezi on 011 861 6850 or come and see her at the Alberton Police Station.
