A PENSIONER in Hudson Street, Eden Park, was robbed by two men armed with firearms on Wednesday, June 8 at 12:00.
The pensioner, who asked not to be named, told the RECORD that he had just stopped at his gate to open it when suddenly a white Golf GTi stopped behind him.
He said two men with firearms got out of the car, leaving the driver still inside with the engine running.
“They both pressed their guns against my head demanding money and stuck their hands into my pockets and took the cash I had just withdrawn from a bank in Alberton. Everything happened so quickly. In a minute or two they were gone with my money,” the heartbroken pensioner said.
He further related to the RECORD that he never saw the car following him from Alberton and as he turned into Hudson Street, there was nobody or any car in the street.
“Only me and the teller at the bank knew that I had drawn cash. How could these thugs have known that I had cash on me? I suspect that this could be an inside job. On March 31 they hijacked my wife on these premises and now this,” he said.
A case of armed robbery was opened at Eden Park SAPS and residents are asked to look out for a white Golf GTi with registration DV 161 … GP – the partial registration number the victim could recall.
