ON September 12 at 11:45 Willie van Wyk, a member of Alberton CPF, received a BBM on the Greater Alberton CPF BB group about a housebreaking in progress in Van Rensburg Street, Alberton North.
He immediately informed the Alberton SAP and members of the EMPD SWAT unit. Without hesitation Willie also rushed to the given address to give assistance.
Upon arrival he met with Sergeant Coetzee, members from EMPD SWAT unit and Zeb Kok, another CPF member. The EMPD members ran to the back door of the house and at the same time the two suspects came running out of the back door. Both suspects were arrested for housebreaking and theft.
The house was found to be ransacked and electrical appliances were already unplugged and packed to be stolen. It was also found that the suspects damaged the CCTV recording system inside the property.
The tools used by the two suspects to gain entry into the house were also recovered. Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the suspects is wanted for another criminal case.
Alberton SAP wishes to thank each and every person and member that was involved in the arrest of these suspects and for their quick and swift reaction to bring the perpetrators to book!
