NATIONAL NEWS: Child (12) in critical condition
On assessment, paramedics discovered that the child had sustained numerous serious injuries, leaving her in a critical condition.

A 12-YEAR-OLD girl was left critically injured on June 28 when she was hit by a taxi at the intersection of 5th and 3rd roads, Roodepoort North.
ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found a young female child lying on the side of the road with her mother and sister sitting nearby.
On assessment, paramedics discovered that the child had sustained numerous serious injuries, leaving her in a critical condition.
Paramedics immediately administered treatment and provided the patient with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, a private medical helicopter was called to the scene to airlift the patient to Baragwanath Hospital for urgent treatment. The mother and sister were assessed by paramedics and found to be uninjured.
Local authorities were on the scene to investigate further.
