Thieves target restaurant again

A R5 000 reward is offered to anyone who can assist in bringing the burglars to book.

JOZI Hut, a restaurant on the K146 Road to Palmridge, was burgled on Tuesday night, June 28.

This was the second burglary the business suffered this year.

The burglars gained entry into the restaurant by breaking locks on the roll-up door and the sliding door at the front of the premises.

“In April, this year, the thieves broke into my shop and stole a lot of valuable items; the case is still under investigation,” said Garreth Thomas, the owner.

”Now, just months later, they have returned and stolen bigger items.”

When Thomas opened shop on Wednesday morning, June 29, he discovered that his refrigerator, with its contents, a chips fryer, chips cutter, a hotplate and a television set had been stolen.

A four-plate stove was unplugged and moved from its position, but was left behind.

“I am offering a R5 000 reward for information that will lead to a successful arrest and conviction of these heartless thieves,” said Garreth, who started this business two years ago.

”I want them arrested and this can only be done with the help of the community. Anyone with information must please contact our local police station on 011 385 2988 to help in the investigation.”
