Tiny Bubbles celebrate 20 years

Tiny Bubbles, a well known pre-school in Alberton, celebrated their 20th birthday.

ON Friday, July 1, Tiny Bubbles, a well-known nursery school in Alberton, currently consisting of two separate sites, celebrated its 20th birthday.

Carene Koekemoer, owner and daymother, started with just one child, but after the Alberton Town Council approved their plans to turn their home into a nursery school, Carene, her husband Boet, and their two children, immediately started converting their home.

“The school’s name was a secret until the very last moment when the name board was revealed and the song ‘Tiny Bubbles’ started playing,” remembers Carene fondly.

Tiny Bubbles has celebrated the day of its inception every year, with themes such as Winnie-the-Pooh, Shrek and Fiona, Clowns, 101 Dalmations, and many more.

This year saw the characters of Minnie Mouse and the Teletubbies as well as music, birthday cake and treats and just loads of fun for all the kids and staff.

“I would like to thank my husband for all he does at Tiny Bubbles, in spite of being retired, as well as the staff, and parents, and of course our Heavenly Father,”says Carene.

“May your child still give you endless joy in the future and I trust that we can still be a great big happy Tiny Bubbles family for many years to come,” she adds.

Tiny Bubbles has become an Alberton institution, looking after its residents’ children for years, and it seems likely that it will continue to do so for generations to come.
