AN off-duty SAPS member reacted and gave chase after a vehicle was hijacked on July 4.

The owner was pulling into his driveway when the incident happened. A vehicle from Rapid Response and CPF were alerted and joined the chase.

After a shootout, the hijackers lost control of the vehicle and ran into the veld. The vehicle was recovered in Leondale as well as a firearm that was left inside the vehicle.

Unfortunately, the suspects got away.

Well done to SAPS and the Alberton CPF members who arrived on the scene. Please report all crime to Alberton Police on 011 861 6825.
