Three dead in collision this morning

Paramedics had to use the jaws of life.

THREE people died and one was critically injured at Main Reef and Field, in Germiston, in the early hours of this morning (July 7).

ER24 paramedics and other services including EMPD, Province and Fire and Rescue arrived on scene and found the vehicle that the people were travelling in near a cement block on the side of the road.

Three people, two men and a woman, trapped in the vehicle had sadly succumbed to their injuries. They were declared dead on the scene of the accident.

Chitra Bodasing, ER24 Spokesperson, said that the Jaws of Life were used to extricate the fatally injured. The critically injured patient was taken out of the vehicle, treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.

The exact cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
