Two apprehended

CPS Security and SAPS worked together to catch criminals.

ON Saturday morning, June 2, at approximately 04:00 CPS Security’s control room received a call regarding a business break-in at a local school in Prinsloo Street in Alberton North.

“Our control room dispatched several vehicles to the break-in and on our arrival we found several members of Alberton SAPS outside the school,” said Tyrone van der Merwe from CPS Security.

After the legal authorities entered the school they managed to apprehend two out of the three suspects. One suspect was found hiding inside the school’s roof and the second suspect was found hiding at the back of the property. Unfortunately the third suspect managed to escape.

On further investigation they saw that the suspects had tampered with the alarm system in the roof by cutting all the wiring. “This is a common trend that we see happening at business premises and strongly recommend that people look at installing roof passives in the ceiling to prevent them from tampering with the alarm system.”

The suspects also had several goods packed in by the front door ready to go.

It is believed that this specific syndicate is responsible for many of the business break-ins in the Alberton area. If any suspicious activity is seen, report it to the SAPS at or to the CPS Security on 011 024 2426.
