NATIONAL NEWS: Man dies after being hit by a vehicle

A thirty-five-year-old man has died after he was struck by a vehicle on the N17 in Springs.

A 35-YEAR-OLD man has died after he was struck by a vehicle on the N17 highway, in Springs.

The accident took place at around 07:00 yesterday and reports from the scene indicate that the man was standing beside his stationary vehicle, that was parked on the yellow line, at the time of the accident.

It is unclear why he was standing next to his vehicle.

According to Netcare911 paramedics, the man was lying a few metres from his vehicle when they arrived on the scene. He had already died due to the extensive injuries he sustained.

Two women found in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and refused hospital treatment.The cause of the accident will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
