Burglars target cellphone shop

It does not rain but pour for the Seboko family when it comes to business burglary.

IT does not rain but pour for the Seboko family when it comes to business burglary. The little stall situated at the old shopping centre in Eden Park has been burgled more than 12 times in a matter of 12 months.

On Friday, July 8, when the husband and wife arrived to open for business, they found the steel roll-up door broken.

Thugs had even broken the interior steel door to gain entry to the stall. They reported that all cellphones brought in for repairs were stolen. “They stole all the cellphones we had in the shop including some dismantled ones. All the cellphone batteries were stolen, which comes as a great loss for our business.

“The first two burglaries when we started our business at the stalls was done through holes in the brick wall. The third and fourth was through the steel door at the front.

“We have opening cases with the police every time we have a burglary. We don’t know whether this will ever stop and we still wonder why it is happening to us,” said Egnes Seboko.
