Thirty Five youngsters completed a ten day course in building construction work.

Thirty-five youngsters completed a 10-day course in building construction work. Each graduate received a certificate and a complete toolbox with the required tools of the trade.

Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality supplied the toolboxes. The first five days were theory followed by five days of practical application.

Lugene Supply and Construction in partnership with Michael Olifant were responsible for training. “This is history in Eden Park. It is the first time we had a project of this nature that we have young men who went for training in construction work.

“We as the community are thankful to Councillor Robert Pienaar and EMM for making this possible. We just hope that the graduates will sincerely pursue the career they have trained for. Be proud and show drug addicts what can be achieved in life,” said Pastor Jerry Marcus to the excited graduates.

The graduates were congratulated by an EMM representative, Mr Marupeng who stressed the point that the tools should not be sold but be used to further their construction skills and abilities. He also advised that the young men now have a chance to even tender for jobs within Ekurhuleni Metropolitan. Councillor Pienaar thanked EMM and all stakeholders and congratulated the news graduates.
