Hospice helps battle the cold

Stepping Stone Hospice step up to help the needy in the cold weather.

With the onset of extreme cold weather this past week, Stepping Stone Hospice and Care Services heard of the plight of some orphaned and vulnerable children in the neighbouring communities.

“Hospice has been blessed with several donations of blankets over the past two months and a decision was made to reach out to some of these children,” said Marietjie Tame from the organisation.

Armed with a pot of soup, bread rolls and blankets, CEO Tersia Burger, accompanied by social workers from AMCARE, paid a visit to the Enochayini School in Phola Park where 35 delighted Grade R children each received a new blanket, a cup of soup and a packet of sweeties.
