Local resident wins a car

Henk Lombard only sent one SMS but was surprised to get the call that he won a brand new Renault Captur.

MAYFIED Park resident of 19 years, Henk Lombard, could not believe his luck when he got a call that he was the winner of a brand-new Renault Captur.

Henk collected his first brand-new vehicle at the Renault East Rand dealer on Monday, August 1, after being randomly selected as the lucky winner from a competition that was advertised on SABC 2’s music competition show Noot vir Noot. The competition was facilitated by Renault East Rand and VirSekers.

Henk informed the RECORD that he and his wife, Annari, were watching the show and decided to each send one SMS message, without even expecting to win. They were later surprised to be informed that Henk was the lucky winner.

“It is really a wonderful feeling to tell you. I did not expect this so I want to thank everyone who made this possible and God the Almighty for having such a plan for our lives,” said the joyful father of three.

“We have three children and it is going to be a surprise for them when we bring home the car. We as a family have never had a brand-new car so you have to give it to the Almighty,” said Annari, who was very happy for her husband.

The religious and God-fearing couple closed the day by thanking everyone who was present and took a photo with the host of Noot vir Noot, Johan Stemmet.
