Old Marais Viljoen student makes her mark internationally

An old Marais Viljoen student, who matriculated in 2014, is making waves in the United States of America.

A FORMER Marais Viljoen learner, who matriculated in 2014, is making waves in the United States of America.

Nonhlanhla Dlamini excelled in cross-country and general participation; she took part in the World Cross-Country Championships, SA Youth Championships and in 2014 she represented South Africa in Zimbabwe, where she achieved a sixth place in the 6 000m event.

In August 2015, Nonhlanhla received a scholarship from Monroe College, in New York, where she studies business administration and management. By August 2016, she had broken several records in the USA and achieved several awards. She is currently the indoor track and field All American Champion in the 1000m, 3 000m, 5 000m and one-mile events.

The school is extremely proud of this local girl who is making her mark internationally.
