SUNDAY, September 4, ended in tragedy for four young children of Riemvasmaak, Eden Park, when a domestic fight resulted in death.
The day started out as a joyous one in Eden Park, where everybody, especially the youth, celebrated Spring Day, which is commonly nicknamed ”Kullid Day” and celebrated in every coloured area in the whole of Gauteng.
According to the Eden Park SAPS, a 40-year-old woman stabbed her 47-year-old partner, who died on the scene. She stabbed him once.
The woman was arrested on Sunday night and appeared in the Palmridge Magistrates Court on Tuesday, September 6.
Many of the Riemavasmaak residents, especially neighbours of the woman, are upset about the arrest, as they claim that the woman suffered a very abusive partnership which, was ended by one stab.
“We are here to support our neighbour, who had a life of hell,” said one of the women at the court, who asked not to be named.
”She was assaulted every weekend, even though she was the breadwinner. ”She was always assaulted or stabbed for money demanded by her unemployed partner. She often ran to the police, but nothing ever happened.
”I am, for now, taking care of her three minors.”
