Car hijacked in Riemvasmaak

This is the second hijacking of a Mercedes Benz in Riemvasmaak during September.

A MAN from Aspen Hills, in Johannesburg South, and his lady friend were hijacked in Riemvasmaak on Friday, September 16, at 21:30.

According to Eden Park SAPS, the man, who was driving a white Mercedes Benz GLA 200 CDi, was hijacked in Dan Seroke Street, when he dropped off his friend at home.

Apparently, the woman was off-loading groceries and he was on his cellphone when three unknown men appeared next to the car. Two of them were armed.

With firearms pointed at the driver, the thugs demanded the car keys and instructed the driver to lie face down on the ground. No shots were fired and the thugs drove off in the vehicle, registration number DB 77 LK GP, valued at R450 000.

This is the second hijacking in Extension 5, in Riemvasmaak, this month. The first took place on September 2, and both cars hijacked were Mercedes Benz.

Eden Park SAPS is investigating.
