Doctor alumni Bracken High’s guest speaker

Bracken High School held their annual sport and academic awards evenings on October 19 and 20 respectively.

Bracken High School held their annual sport and academic awards evenings on October 19 and 20 respectively.

The school had the privilege of hosting alumni, Dr Craig Wing, as its guest speaker. A number of learners received awards for outstanding academic and sports achievements.

Noteworthy achievements were Dux Scholar Vaughan Grootboom, who maintained an average of 89 per cent over the 2016 academic year. Bracken High’s current head-boy, Lesedi Kgosi, received achiever of the year for outstanding accomplishment in culture, academics and sport over the past year. Bracken High was also proud to announce the head leaders for the coming year: namely Cwenga Mtalana (deputy head boy), Rofhiwa Masenya (head boy), Akua Gyebi (head girl) and Emiley Nhlapo (deputy head girl).

Sinqobile Zondi received sportsman of the year while Kutlwano Maleke was the sportswoman of the year. Congratulations to all the prize winners.
