UPDATE: Still no water for Alberton

As soon as water tankers are in place it will be communicated via Twitter.

Please take note that the areas affected by water cuts will not have their water restored today or tomorrow. Engineers are working around the clock to ensure that the water is restored by Sunday.

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality wishes to inform consumers in Alberton of an emergency water supply interruption today, 11 November 2016 due to PRV installation and pipe replacement.

Areas to be affected:

  • Alberante,
  • New Redruth,
  • Raceview,
  • Verwoerdpark,
  • Florentia and
  • Old Alberton.

Councillor Bruna Haipel has released the following statement: Water tankers will be located at Clinton Street, Union hospital, Corner Jim Fouche & Second Avenue, Glen Avenue and Kritzinger Road next to the old age home. The EMM wishes to apologise for any inconvenience to be caused by the interruption.

Jo jo tanks are at the following places:

  • Clinton Hospital
  • Union Hospital
  • Verwoerd park shopping centre
  • Glen drive Verwoerd park
  • Kritzinger st retirement village
  • Silwerkroon (if there is no water but they should have some)
