"The suspects made off with R500 and demanded cigarettes, but they fled the scene in a white Audi before the wife could hand them over."

CAPTAIN Manare Ramotshela, spokesperson for the Alberton Police Station, shed some more light on the alleged robbery and murder this morning, Monday, April 3.

“The victim and his wife were in their shop (Helen’s Fish and Chips) when two suspects approached the couple, shot the husband and demanded money from the wife,” says Ramotshela.

“The suspects made off with R500 and demanded cigarettes, but they fled the scene in a white Audi before the wife could hand them over. The deceased is a white male, 66 years of age. The police will investigate a case of business robbery and murder,” said Ramotshela.
