ACCORDING to the Specialised Commercial Crime Unit of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) and IRS Forensic Investigations, a warrant of arrest has been issued for David Desmond Edward Powell, who is being sought on multiple charges of fraud, exceeding R20 million.
The suspect was most recently staying in the south of Johannesburg and has been spotted at shopping centres in the area, including Southgate Mall.
Powell is known to frequent casinos, horse racing tracks and off-course bookmakers.
The following cases have been opened against him: Boschkop SAPS CAS 193/11/2014, Brooklyn SAPS CAS 623/11/2014, Ogies SAPS CAS 75/11/2014, Kempton Park SAPS CAS 534/4/2013 and
Honeydew SAPS CAS 1086/2/2014.
