Gardener robbed of his lawnmower

One robber was arrested and appeared in the Palmridge Court

LIFE is already tough and with unemployment becoming an even bigger problem, many families find it difficult to put food on the table.

Many men, especially married ones, are desperately trying to obtain second-hand lawnmowers so they can do gardening and generate an income. One such unemployed man is Andrian Carlos who is a willing and hardworking gardener known to many in Eden Park.

Sadly, on Friday, May 26, Carlos was robbed of his lawnmower, and his means of income, while working in a customer’s garden in Willy Street.

While cutting the grass he was approached by two men, one of whom was armed with a knife. While the armed man held his knife against Carlos, the other man took the lawnmower.

Both thieves managed to escape with the lawnmower but Carlos went to the police to open a case of armed robbery.

Constable Andrew Kordom of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said one of the armed robbers, who was known in the area, has since been arrested and appeared in the Palmridge Court on Tuesday, May 30. The case has been postponed.
