Another burglary in notorious Fiat Street

Lydia called the police and they found some of the goods in that house.

A HOUSE in Fiat Street has been burgled while the owners were at work.

On Thursday, June 29, the stolen goods (meat and tools) were allegedly found in a house on the same street, with the help of neighbours and eye-witnesses.

“My husband and I locked the house and caravan in our yard and headed off to work. When I returned home at around 3.30pm, I unlocked the gate and immediately noticed that the back window of the caravan was wide open,” says Lydia Slava.

“When I entered the caravan, I found stuff thrown everywhere. It was such a mess inside. Then I saw that tools and meat from the freezer were missing,” she adds.

Lydia claims that some of her neighbours came forward and pointed to a man a few houses down from hers.

Lydia called the police and they found some of the goods in that house.

Capt Emmanuel Jele of the SAPS confirmed that a case of house-breaking and theft was opened and that the police are investigating and searching for the suspect.

It is further alleged that the suspect is wanted for many other house-breaking cases.
