Security officer stumbles on hijacked trailer

This happened in Union Street.

ON the evening of July 19, an SW Security (SWS) reaction officer was on patrol in the Alberton North area when he noticed a truck and trailer parked on Union Street.

On further investigation, the officer noticed that the truck was not from the same company as the trailer.

After a search, a tracker jamming device was found.

About 30 tons of goods were recovered from the trailer.

TRUCK: The truck which pulled the hikacked trailer.

The owner of the trailer – an SWS client – was contacted and it was determined that the trailer had recently been hijacked in the Boksburg area.

On further investigation, it was found that the truck itself was also hijacked or stolen in the Free State.

The crime scene was cordoned off and the truck and load were handed over to Alberton SAPS for further investigation.
